Kontra – Sekobileet

Moog Konttisen luotsaaman Kontran musiikkia ei pidä ottaa liian vakavasti :-)

70-luvun lopulla yhtye julkaisi muutaman hämmennystä aiheuttaneen albumin. ”Kontran toinen puoli” nimeä kantava levy tarjoilee Sekobileet, todellisen omituisten otusten kerhon, johon narkkaritkin pääsevät mukaan.

”Nyt mennään sekobileisiin,
Sekoilu-sellaisiin.
On kaikki tervetulleet mukaan
Extaasiin!

Hyppää beibi mukaan vaan,
Pukeudu kumiin ja nahkaan
Ja muista ottaa ruoska mukaan,
Kun mennään sekobileisiin.

Huohota ensin puhelimeen,
Hukuta murheet Vodka Limeen
Ja pistä värinää elimeen,
Kun sekobileet sekoillaan.

Ja kaikki hintit ja lesbot, ne yhdessä tanssii,
Exhibitionisti pelaa pasianssii,
Kun suurimmat sadistit ja masokistit kans
Huutaa: Hei lyä mua, ja mää lyän sua!
Huoltopoliisit narkkareita jahtaa,
Tirkistelijät kulman takaa vahtaa,
Kun joku on koiran kanssa kontallaan.
On sekobileet huipussaan, jee!
Me sekobileet sekoillaan!

Nyt kaikki suutelee toisiaan,
Veljet siskojaan ja äidit poikiaan
Ja namusedät tarjoo namujaan,
Kun sekobileet sekoillaan.

Transvestiitit liivejä sovittaa,
Fetisistit salaa niitä koittaa.
Ja itsensä kiduttajat Kontraa soittaa,
Kun sekobileet sekoillaan.

Ja kaikki pyromaanit raapii tikkuja,
Negrofiilit etsii ruumiita,
Kun suurimmat sadistit ja masokistit kans
Huutaa: Mää lyän sua, jos sää lyät mua!

Absolutistit viinaa ottaa,
Ureanistit koittaa päähänsä pottaa.
Mä aion raapia sieltä mistä kutiaa,
Kun sekobileet sekoillaan, jee.
Me sekobileet sekoillaan,
Me sekobileet sekoillaan!”

Ace Frehley – Snow Blind

”It’s so hard to feel right baby
When I’m travelin’ around and you’re far behind
Guy, I wish I could see my lady
Girl, I hope you don’t mind ’cause

I’m snowblind, I can’t see a thing
I’m snowblind, I don’t wanna sing
I’m snowblind need a familiar face
I’m snowblind think I’m lost in space

Lookin’ out my window, sometimes I wonder
Am I ever gonna get to where I’m gonna go home?
Maybe tomorrow, maybe next summer
Girl, I just don’t know ’cause

I’m snowblind, I can’t see a thing
I’m snowblind, I don’t wanna sing
I’m snowblind need a familiar face
I’m snowblind think I’m lost in space

Movin’ around I get in trouble
When I’m feelin’ so low and out of my mind
Babe, I don’t wanna burst your bubble
Girl, you know the reason why ’cause

I’m snowblind, I can’t see a thing
I’m snowblind, I don’t wanna sing
I’m snowblind need a familiar face
I’m snowblind think I’m lost in space”

The Only Ones – Another Girl, Another Planet

The Only Onesien pikkuhitti kertoo heroiinin käytöstä.

”I always flirt with death
I could kill, but I don’t care about it
I can face your threats
Stand up tall and scream and shout about it

I think I’m on another world with you
I’m on another planet with you

You always get under my skin
I don’t find it irritating
You always play to win
I don’t need rehabilitating

Another girl, another planet
Another girl, another planet

Space travels in my blood
And there ain’t nothing I can do about it
Long journeys wear me out
Oh God we won’t live without it

Another girl is loving you now
Another planet, forever holding you down
Another planet”

Gil Scott-Heron – Angel Dust

”He was groovin’
and that was when he coulda sworn
the room was movin’
But that was only in his mind
He was sailin’
he never really seemed to notice
vision failin’
’cause that was all part of the high
Sweat was pourin’ —
he couldn’t take it
The room was exploding —
he might not make it.

Angel Dust
Please, children would you listen.
Angel Dust
Just ain’t where it’s at.
Angel Dust
You won’t remember what you’re
missin’, but down some dead end streets
there ain’t no turnin’ back.

They were standin’
ev’rybody in a circle;
the whole family
listening to the preacher’s words
Sis was cryin’
She alone held all the secrets
’bout his dyin’
tears fallin’ to earth
Maybe her fault
He was so trusting
God only knew why
they was dustin’!

Angel Dust
Please children would you listen.
Angel Dust
Just ain’t where it’s at.
Angel Dust
You won’t remember what you’re
missin’, but down some dead end streets
there ain’t no turnin’ back.”

Santana – Dealer/Spanish Rose

Santana goes AOR. Tämä 70-luvun lopun biisi ei anna mitenkään maireaa kuvaa diilereistä.

”As the evening sun goes down
The dealer shuffles into town
Makes a note of what’s a float
And spinning ’round, he’ll cut your throat

In the time it takes to heal
The dealer’s made another deal
When he plays, he plays for keeps
And sweeps the spinning roulette wheel

Dealer, Dealer

Like the mighty ocean’s roar, he gets his share and more
Evil to the core and proud
If you cross him off for sure he’ll get even with the score
Leave your wife a weeping widow on the shore

Between the desert and the dark
Money is his only love
Feeling nothing deep inside
His mind is governed by his pride

In a smoky little room
Shadows moving in the gloom
Someone turns a running flush
And breaks the deathly quiet hush

Dealer, Dealer”

The Clash – Julie’s Been Working for the Drug Squad

Biisi on The Clashin kommentti Operaatio Julieen, jossa pidätettiin suurin LSD:n valmistusrinki.

”it’s lucy in the sky and all kinds of apple pie
she giggles at the screen ’cos it looks so green
there’s carpets on the pavements
and feathers in her eye
but sooner or later, her new friends will realise
that julie’s been working for the drug squad

well it seemed like a dream, too good to be true
stash it in the bank while the tablets grow high
in their millions

and everybody’s high (hi, man…)
but there’s someone looking down
from that mountainside
’cos julie’s been working for the drug squad

and it’s ten years for you
nineteen for you
and you can get out in twenty-five
that is if you’re still alive

an’ then there came the night of the greatest ever raid
they arrested every drug that had ever been made
they took eighty-two laws
through eighty-two doors
and they didn’t halt the pull
till the cells were all full
’cos julie was working for the drug squad

they put him in a cell, they said you wait here
you’ve got the time to count all of your hair
you’ve got fifteen years
a mighty long time
you could have been a physicist
but now your name is on the mailbag list
julie’s been working for the drug squad”

Tom Waits – Christmas Card from a Hooker in Minneapolis

Voi jestas, että on hienosti kirjoitettu tarina! Kuin suoraan addiktin sydämestä. Viimeinen säkeistö naulaa tämän todella hienosti.

”hey charlie i’m pregnant
and living on the 9th street
right above a dirty bookstore
off euclid avenue
and i stopped takin dope
and i quit drinkin whiskey
and my old man plays the trombone
and works out at the track

and he says that he loves me
even though its not his baby
and he says that he’ll raise him up
like he would his own son
and he gave me a ring
that was worn by his mother
and he takes me out dancin
every saturday night.

and hey charlie i think about you
everytime i pass a fillin station
on account of all the grease
you used to wear in your hair
and i still have that record
of little anthony & the imperials
but someone stole my record player
now how do you like that?

hey charlie i almost went crazy
after mario got busted
so i went back to omaha to
live with my folks
but everyone i used to know
was either dead or in prison
so i came back to minneapolis
this time i think i’m gonna stay.

hey charlie i think i’m happy
for the first time since my accident
and i wish i had all the money
that we used to spend on dope
i’d buy me a used car lot
and i wouldn’t sell any of em
i’d just drive a different car
every day, dependin on how
i feel

hey charlie for chrissakes
do you want to know the
truth of it?
i don’t have a husband
he don’t play the trombone
and i need to borrow money
to pay this lawyer
and charlie, hey
i’ll be eligible for parole
come valentines day”

Bob Marley – Easy Skanking

Biisissä relaillaan tanssien ja poltellen pilveä. Skanking viittaa ska-musiikin tahdissa tanssimiseen.

”Excuse me while I light my spliff
Good GOD I gotta take a lift
From reality I just can’t drift
That’s why I am staying with this riff”

The Clash – Drug-Stabbing Time

Biisi kuvaa todella osuvasti huumeiden aiheuttamia vainoja.

”Drug stabbin’ time
It’s a Greenwich Mean Time
Your friends all hate each other you think
You’ve got another
But who’s at the door?
Don’t answer it no more

Drug stabbin time
In a bedroom crime
There’s a tape recording on a telephone line
An’ it’s ringin from the floor
So don’t answer it no more”
